Before you confirm a reservation, please examine this policy thoroughly. By booking a yacht with MapleBerryField, you are accepting these terms for refunds.

Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule

More than 72 Hours Before Charter

100% Refund

Eligible for: Full refund minus handling charges

Processing Time: 5-7 business days

Handling Fee: €50 for payments via credit card

Conditions: Must be requested through written communication such as email or telephone

24-72 Hours Before Charter

50% Refund

Eligible for: Half of the total cost of the charter

Processing Time: 7-10 business days

Handling Fee: €25 taken from the refund amount

Conditions: Legitimate reasons required; fees for administrative expenses

Less than 24 Hours Before Charter

No Refund

Eligible for: No reimbursement available

Exception: Cases of emergency may be examined

Alternative: A credit for booking might be provided at the discretion of the management

Conditions: Proof required for emergency cases

Weather-Related Cancellations

Our Commitment to Safety

Your safety is paramount. If the charter's conditions are deemed hazardous by our qualified captain, we provide flexible alternatives:

  • Complete Refund: A full refund if there's no option to reschedule
  • Reschedule: You can rearrange your charter for another date at no extra cost
  • Charter Credit: A credit note valid for one year from the initial charter date

Procedure for Weather Evaluation

We assess the weather using the following metrics:

  • Evaluation of wind speed and direction
  • Analysis of wave height and ocean conditions
  • Visibility and precipitation forecasts
  • Notices and alerts from the Coast Guard
  • Expert safety assessment by our captain

Timeline for Decision: Decisions to cancel due to weather are made at least 4 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Medical Emergency Refunds

Circumstances of Urgency

We recognize that medical urgencies can arise unexpectedly. The circumstances that may warrant special consideration include:

  • Sudden medical conditions or injuries that require hospital admittance
  • Loss of an immediate family member
  • Urgent military orders or deployment
  • Compulsory jury service or legal summons
  • Natural disasters impacting travel plans

Documentation Required

To accommodate requests for refunds due to emergencies, the following documents are needed:

  • Mandatory medical certificate or hospital papers
  • Certified death certification (if relevant)
  • Written military directives
  • Legal notice for jury service or court attendance
  • Emergency declarations or travel warnings

Processing: Emergency recompense requests are processed within 3-5 business days after documentation is received.

Cancellations Due to Operational Reasons

Equipment Failures

Should the yacht designated for your charter encounter mechanical issues that can't be rectified:

  • Substitute Vessel: Efforts will be made to supply a similar vessel
  • Complete Refund: Offered if an equivalent is not available
  • Partial Refund: In the event the alternative vessel is priced differently
  • Additional Compensation: We may provide additional recompense for the inconvenience

Unavailability of Crew

In the unlikely event that a certified crew member is not available:

  • A substitute crew will be sought if feasible
  • An entire refund is issued if we cannot conduct the charter
  • Rescheduling a charter at no additional expense

Procedures for Refund Processing

Mode of Reimbursement

Reimbursements will be returned via the original payment method:

  • Credit Cards: Processing takes 5-7 business days
  • Bank Transfers: Require 7-10 business days
  • Cash or Cheque: Takes approximately 3-5 business days

Fees for Refund Processing

Credit Card Transactions

A €50 fee for cancellations requested more than 72 hours prior to the charter

Bank Transfer Transactions

There is a flat €25 fee for all refunds processed via bank transfer

International Operations

Extra charges may be incurred for international transactions

Issuance of Charter Credits

Conditions for Issuing Credits

In specific situations, charter credits may be provided in place of reimbursements:

  • Late cancellations within 24 hours of charter
  • Charter cancellations due to weather
  • Voluntary rescheduling by the customer
  • Operational interruptions

Conditions of Credits

  • Validity: Valid for one year from the time of issue
  • Transferability: Cannot be transferred to others
  • Worth: Equivalent to the full value of the charter, devoid of processing costs
  • Application: Applicable towards any available charter
  • Expiration: No extensions beyond the 12-month period

Refunds for Partially Rendered Services

Service Disruptions

If your charter is interrupted or ends prematurely due to issues we control:

  • Adjusted refund for the portion of the service not used
  • Credit for a future charter of equivalent value
  • Extra services or complimentary upgrades may be offered

Interruptions Due to Guest Actions

If a charter ends early owing to misconduct or disregard of safety guidelines by the guests:

  • No reimbursement for the unutilized duration
  • Full payment remains required
  • Additional costs might be imposed

Resolving Disputes

Should you have objections to a refund resolution, you may:

  • Ask for reconsideration by our management
  • Present supplementary proof or documentation
  • Engage with consumer advocacy agencies
  • Explore legal options according to relevant laws

  • The unique booking confirmation ID
  • Scheduled date and time for the charter
  • The reason for the cancellation
  • Any relevant supporting documentation
  • Chosen method for refund

Step 3: Evaluation and Action

Our team will acknowledge the receipt of your claim within one day, evaluate it in accordance with this refund policy, notify you of the decision in two days, and if approved, process the reimbursement within the prescribed timeframes.

  • All refund claims must be made in writing
  • Refund processing is calculated in € regardless of the original currency used in payment
  • Acquisition of travel insurance is highly advised
  • Notice of policy changes will be given at least 30 days in advance
  • Refunds will adhere to appropriate taxes and regulations
